Mandy Creighton and and Ryan Mlynarczyk are traveling 12,000 miles around the US by bicycle on a journey to visit and document people living in sustainable communities of all types. One of the main foci of the project is to explore how people live more sustainably in cohousing communities, as this is the fastest growing segment of the entire movement. The journey is currently underway, and a feature-length documentary film is set to be made at the end of 2009 to help advocate for the communities movement and educate viewers on the importance of living more sustainably in community. In addition to a comprehensive website, they give video and slideshow presentations to local communities as they travel. Both Ryan and Mandy have a passion for sustainability and want to bring their skills and knowledge into community life. They plan to move into one of the communities they visit at the end of their journey.

hi mandy, thanks for letting people know about the other touring group that is happening, perhaps they ought to have a group here too.

Actually, I am not involved with this group, I am only trying to get their group setup here in order to advertise their initiative. Mandy Creighton is the producer.

We could all utilize our local public access stations to profile short documentaries of local interest. As for local currencies, the Bershires, or now known as BERKSHARES, has certainly given us a good prototype to build from.

A wonderful idea, thankyou Sandi.
I am going to buy myself a camera and get familiar with the software. I want to begin filming the tousend interesting activities that are going on in Germany and Italy.
There is also an initiative right hier in Wiesbaden, where I live. Aroung 20 business people want to get together and use a different money in order to exchange goods and services among one another on a local basis. The idea comes from Peter Fitzek, an energy bundle who has created in Wittenberg (near Berlin) a Center of Light with own money, own bank and own health ensurance.
I will visit him next week, than I will refer more.

I wish you enormous success !
