Hi Samantha. I am doing PR for the Paso Robles TT group and would like to send you an occasional email about films, potlucks, workshops, etc. we are sponsoring up here. So I sent you a "friends" request. Judith

Profile Information

How might your current work contribute to the Transition movement?
I'm an herbalist and nutritionist, promoting edible landscaping and natural medicine. I've also been involved in solar and renewable energy projects since the late 70s. To me holistic healing means living in balance, and integration of mind, body, spirit, and the environment.
In what ways do you personally identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
When we eat organically grown food, and live lightly and simply on the Earth, we have time to appreciate what's really important, and to restore balance. We are experiencing the collapse of an unbalanced construct and transitioning into a world of interdependence.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
I am a master herbalist and clinical nutritionist. But also, I studied organic agriculture, solar and wind at Cabrillo College, and at UC Santa Cruz in the late 70s. I've been an organic gardener for over 35 years, and have taught herbology and nutrition through Cal Poly and other educational institutions. I am also an herbal product formulator.
What aspects of the Transition Town movement most interests you?
I strongly believe that when we free ourselves of toxins, our bodies and brains actually begin functioning optimally, and help bring about change. Now is the perfect moment to get a foothold, as the disenchantment with unchecked consumerism is giving way to longterm solutions that are grounded in sustainability.
